Ed Revere, CRPA

Ed Revere is a board certified Peer Support Specialist since 2018 and has extensive  experience in peer support, outreach and recovery-focused services. He has worked directly with individuals navigating mental health challenges, substance use recovery, and complex life transitions—always with a strong belief in the power of connection, dignity, and lived experience.

Ed worked as a Peer Support Specialist with Spectrum Health Services, where he supported individuals in recovery, coordinated care for medical and mental health needs, and participated in community outreach initiatives. He has delivered public speeches focused on suicide prevention, helping to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and promote hope within the community.

Additionally, he has worked at Sisters Hospital in the methadone clinic, providing support to individuals engaged in medication-assisted treatment. Additionally, he worked as an Outreach Worker for Oxford House where he supervised 26 recovery homes and supported over 215 men. In this role Ed coordinated recovery efforts, assisted with employment placement, encouraged participation in AA and NA meetings and helped residents maintain stable, sober living environments.

Ed has been in long-term recovery since 2016 and in that time he has formed many connections within the greater Buffalo area among various recovery and mental health organizations. He has made appearances on the podcasts SHOCK Incarceration Podcast and Family Help with Addiction where he shared some of his experiences in recovery and as a mental health professional.

His extensive experience working alongside clients of whom many deal with a range of mental health morbidities has made him a sought-after partner in the field of peer recovery. He is always seeking new ways to provide for the recovery community and broaden his knowledge within the mental health services.

Julian Kappel, CRPA

Recovery isn’t just something I practice – it’s something I live every day. As a Certified Peer Advocate and Peer Support Specialist, I walk alongside individuals navigating their recovery journey with both professional training and lived experience. With over five years of sobriety from alcohol and over 12 years clean from opiates, I understand the courage it takes to ask for help and the strength it takes to keep going. My experience as House President and Outreach Worker for Oxford House of Western New York has allowed me to support individuals not just in early recovery, but in building structure, accountability and hope for long-term change. I believe recovery is possible for everyone and my work is rooted in compassion, honesty and the belief that no one should have to do this alone.

Outside of my professional work I enjoy reading comics, creative writing and spending time with my family. I live in Buffalo, New York with my wife and our daughter and my personal life continues to ground and inspire the work I do every day.
